A Note from April: Summer of Salsa

We're only one week into summer, and already things are sizzling in the Salsa Kitchen. We've got so many exciting announcements and releases that we've taken to calling it the "Summer of Salsa," and we want to give you a preview of what's to come this summer -- and beyond!  Get ready for some major advancements as we strive to create the very best, easiest-to-use, feature-rich platform to help you be the savviest, most effective organizers and fundraisers around!

Google, Sender Name, SPF and You

Today Google introduced a new security feature to help better inform readers of who is sending a given message.  The hope is to prevent spoofing, which occurs when one sends an email that appears to come from one source but actually comes from another.  This is a common practice used by spammers to trick people into opening, reading and clicking on emails.

This information is usually hidden in the headers of an email (code you don’t normally see but tracks the journey of an email). Gmail has begun to add “via” information to show who is actually sending the email.  So even though your blasts might be coming from xyz@yourorg.com, Gmail will show that the messages are being sent by Salsa Labs.
