December D.C. Nonprofit Jollity Calendar

Secularists, unbelievers, and followers of illicit gods! December brings a fresh front in our Weihnachtenkrieg! Prognptech, in keeping with its decadent reputation, has set us an example with an Advent Frimaire calendar's worth of besotting bacchanals here in Babylon (all times Eastern). Dec. 1: 12:30 - The Center for American Progress hosts a discussion of online strategies in the 2006 election, free noshes included. 2:00 -- NTEN's phone-in tea time 7:00 -- Care2 Happy Hour at Anzu Lounge in Adams Morgan, Anzu Lounge: 2436 Eighteenth Street, NW. There is a cover. Dec. 5: 12:00 -- New Politics Institute panel on the Next Wave of Tools for Progressive Politics -- Phoenix Park Hotel at 520 North Capitol Street, NW (no RSVP needed) 2:00 -- (Shameless self-promotion) Get a primer on the DIA toolset and a sneak peak at the forthcoming user interface at DIA's D.C. training. 5:30 -- Said party will be among several rolling to M+R's holiday booze-up at nearby Mackey’s Public House, 1823 L St. NW. RSVP to Elizabeth Brookbank (ebrookbank at mrss dot com) Dec. 7: 5:00 -- Progressive Communicators of D.C. happy hour at La Tasca 722 7th Street NW. RSVP by Dec. 4 to bdobbins at vancomm dot com. Dec. 13: 6:00 -- Nonprofit networking holiday party jointly sponsored by OneWorld, CivilRights.org and Our New Evolution at Zorba's Cafe off North DuPont. Free and no RSVP required -- bring flyers to hand out or swag to raffle, and also non-perishable food for Martha's Table. Dec. 14: 5:30 -- We'll be liquoring up early at the Center for Economic and Policy Research's holiday party, in preparation for the real serious liver damage we'll be inflicting at... 7:00 -- DIA's very own holiday party. Historically, and I don't mean to boast, these go long and late. I'm sure this has only scratched the surface; if anyone has other hot tips, I'll be updating this calendar as I get them. Happy holidays, or, as O'Reilly might insist, Joyeux Noel.
