Greetings!
It's the "Salsa Weekly Highlight," your quick hit on what's new in Salsa to help get the most out of your online program. As always, you can find plenty more news, updates, and conversation throughout the week on SalsaCommons.org.
We've just published a package of upgrades to your Donation Management tool with additional features that you'll want to add right away:
- A new view in the navigation of all successful, online transactions (under "Donations >>");
- A view of all recurring donations sorted by donor (under "Recurring Donors >>");
- An expanded set of built-in reports;
- Manual donation entry (under "Enter Donations >>")
Adding the New Donation Package
Your organization must be on a Salsa contract that provides donation tools, such as a tier two contract, to use this package. You yourself also have to be logged in as a Super Admin for the organization in order to install this (or any) package.
Provided that's the case, get these features by installing the new Salsa Donations package.
- Click on "Accounts" in the upper right hand corner of your dashboard
- Then, click "Manage Your Packages" in the bottom right-hand box
- Find the salsa.donation.common.hq package
- Click "Add package"
The features should appear under the Donation Management tab as soon as you've added the package.
On a Tier Three contract?
There are two additional donations headquarters tools only available for organizations with tier three contracts.
If you're with such an organization, once you've added the salsa.donation.common.hq package, complete your donations tab by adding two additional packages:
- salsa.donation.store, to add storefront functionality
- salsa.donation.p2p, to add peer-to-peer fundraising pages
Hopefully these upgrades give your donation management a little shot in the arm for the spring!
If you have other requests for donations reports or features, just let us know directly, or post your ideas to SalsaCommons.org.

Each relationship teaches us something about ourselves. I’m referring to all relationships you have or have had in the past. My belief is that we have many lives but have no memory of them. Each life teaches us lessons. So each person that strolls into my life I believe is here to teach me something about myself. Even the relationships where there is a lot of conflict. We see our strengths and weakness. So take some time to reflect on your role in your relationships and see the positive that can come from them.
