The Coast Guard Foundation is lending a helping hand to the family and the Coast Guard community affected by the sudden death of BMC Terrell Horne III in California. Join us in support of the Coast Guard, their families and shipmates.
During trying times, we are reminded of the stark danger Coast Guard members face on a daily basis.
In times of need, the Coast Guard Foundation extends a helping hand to active duty personnel and their families. When a family is faced with the unthinkable loss of a loved one in the line of duty, the Foundation works hand-in-hand with the Coast Guard to help the family cope with the loss of their loved one and ensure their immediate needs are met.
And once the immediate needs are addressed, we turn to longer-term support. Losing a parent is an unparalleled tragedy and the Coast Guard Foundation ensures that those heroes' loved ones receive a quality education in the wake of the loss. A scholarship program supports the children of Coast Guard members who die in service to our country.
All contributions received on this donation form will be used to support the Family Disaster Relief Fund, the support programs for the Coast Guard community and the Fallen Heroes Scholarship Fund.
►FOR FAMILIES The Family Disaster Relief Fund provides immediate support to the family of the fallen, for travel and related expenses in dealing with the aftermath of the loss.
►FOR THE COAST GUARD COMMUNITY The Coast Guard Foundation supports the Coast Guard's memorial service, to properly honor the lost service member, and acts as a lineline for the affected unit and nearby Coast Guard members, who need comfort during these difficult times.
►FOR CHILDREN The Fallen Heroes’ Scholarship Fund provided college scholarships for the lost service member's children. The long term support is there when the child reaches college age.
