Tell the Seattle School Board: Don’t Jeopardize Student Health!

Take Action Today

The Seattle School Board is looking to alter its nutrition restrictions on what can be sold in campus vending machines in order to raise money for student extracurricular activities.

While funding these student programs is certainly important, we simply cannot afford to undermine students’ health by allowing unhealthy food and beverages to be sold on Seattle campuses.

Fortunately, proper nutrition and student fundraising can go hand-in-hand! Schools can raise money by hosting alternative fundraisers such as magazine sales or hosting events like 5K races (just to name a few). Schools never have to sell junk food to raise money for student activities.

Please ask the Seattle School Board to uphold strong healthy nutrition standards as they assess which foods and beverages can be sold in student vending machines.
