Dear Superintendent:

Recently, we sent you an email asking you to complete a brief survey on your success and challenges with chronic absenteeism.  We know you are busy but please take a few minutes to answer this survey.  Your response will help us identify approaches that ensure that more New Jersey children are regularly attending schools. The survey findings will be highlighted in our second report on chronic absenteeism this September, so that districts can learn from the success and challenges of schools throughout the state. View ACNJ's 2015 report Showing Up Matters: The State of Chronic Absenteeism in New Jersey.

We ask that you or a knowledgeable staff member please take the time to complete this brief survey by Friday, July 8th. Click here to access the survey.

Please note that district-specific information will NOT be part of the report.  If however, a district identifies an exemplary and/or innovative “best practice” that is being implemented to reduce absenteeism, ACNJ staff will contact the district to seek permission to include the best practice as part of the report.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Cynthia Rice at crice@acnj.org or at 973-643-3876.  Thank you in advance for your assistance and we look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Cynthia Rice, Senior Policy Analyst
Peter Chen, Skadden Fellow
