Dear Supporter,

In Tuesday’s State of the Union speech, President Obama advanced bold proposals to help our youngest children get off to the right start. The President outlined his plan to help families pay for child care through increased tax credits and to expand investments that will improve child care quality, access and affordability for working families.

Specifically, the White House proposal would triple tax credits from $1,000 to $3,000 for families with children under 5 years old and would make credit more available to low- and middle-income families.  The proposal would also include updating child care savings programs and streamlining tax benefits to help families find affordable, quality care for their children.

In referring to quality child care, President Obama stated:  “It’s not a nice-to-have—it’s a must have.”

Let’s thank the President for his commitment to young children and their families.
