Advocates for Children of New Jersey

Action Alert!

Send a message to Congress supporting child care safety!

TAKE ACTION
Urge Senators
  to advance child care
safety by supporting bill S-1086.

Dear Supporter,

A bill in Congress would improve the safety of tens of thousands of New Jersey children who spend at least part of their week in child care, while giving parents more information when choosing child care.

Please urge your U.S. Senators to support this critical measure! It only takes a minute to speak up for kids.

S.1086 would renew the Child Care and Development Block Grant, which funds child care for tens of thousands of New Jersey children. The measure being considered right now advances important changes, including requiring criminal background checks of people who care for children in their own homes and mandating that states post inspection reports and violations online to help parents choose a quality child care setting for their children.

This bill has already passed the U.S. House of Representatives, but needs Senate approval to send it to the President’s desk for his signature. You can help make a difference by telling your Senators to strengthen child care in New Jersey and across the nation. Don't wait! Children need to be in safe settings that promote their healthy development. Let your Senators know that the current condition of child care is not okay and working parents need peace of mind to know their children are safe while they work.

Please send your message today!
Sincerely,

Cecilia Zalkind
Executive Director
