As legislators debate the governor’s proposed spending plan, ACNJ issued its annual budget brief, which will be part of the discussion at the release of New Jersey Kids Count on April 24 at 10 a.m. in Trenton.

Please join us then to examine the state of New Jersey’s children on both the state and county levels and look at how we are responding to the needs of children and families.

Register today to attend this free event.

ACNJ’s budget report found that the proposal provides limited additional funding to meet the growing needs of children across the state. While state officials anticipate collecting $21 million more in federal funds for school breakfast and have provided $21 million more for health insurance, child care and preschool are not recommended for significant increases.

Read the budget brief.

We hope to see you on April 24 when we will have a more in-depth discussion of how this proposal affects children across New Jersey.
