Dear Supporter,

Did you know that despite a statewide increase in childhood poverty, significant increases in food insecurity and abundant evidence of the benefits of school breakfast, New Jersey ranks 48th in the nation for participation in this critical child nutrition program?

To ensure more of NJ’s neediest children have the opportunity to start their school day with a healthy meal, ready to learn Advocates for Children of New Jersey (ACNJ) launched the Food for Thought: School Breakfast Campaign.

We educate district-by-district on the issue, present solutions and secure support from community leaders, parents and school leadership to take on logistical barriers. Our work has already produced results, but …we need your help to do more.

Your gift will help ACNJ expand our advocacy efforts into additional high-poverty school districts – reaching more of the children who need us most.

Our goal is to increase program participation by 30,000 disadvantaged NJ children this year.  That’s over 5.4 million meals!

Help us get there.  Please consider making a gift today!

Sincerely,

Cecilia Zalkind
