Bergen County Summer Meals Roundtable
Join The New Jersey Food for Thought Campaign, in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Agriculture and the Bergen Volunteer Center for a roundtable discussion to explore ways communities in Bergen County can expand the summer meals program and feed more chen in 2018.
This meeting will bring together stakeholders in identified Bergen County communities that that have high numbers of children who are eligible for free summer meals. During this interactive discussion, we will share challenges and successful strategies to reach many more children during the summer and earn increased federal reimbursements.
Topics include:
- Engaging the community and recruiting new sites,
- Conducting effective community outreach to promote the program, and
- Meeting other operational challenges.
New Jersey Department of Agriculture officials will be on hand to offer other solutions for improving management of the Summer Food Service Program.
