Share Your Medicaid Story on National Storytelling Day

Thursday, April 27th is National Storytelling Day, a time to gather stories highlighting the importance of daily lives and experiences in America.  On National Storytelling Day, Consumer Voice is inviting long-term care consumers and their families to share their story about why Medicaid is important in their lives.  As you all know, members of Congress are the ones who will decide what happens to Medicaid.  They need to hear why Medicaid is important to nursing home residents, other long-term care consumers and their families.  We have prepared questions to answer yourself or to guide an interview with someone else.  In addition, stories can be written or recorded with video.  You can submit the story via email, fileshare, or mail.  Please visit our website for interview questions and submission instructions.

Read stories we have already collected here.  We are hoping to collect one story per state.  Make sure your state is represented, and submit your Medicaid story to us this Thursday!

Stand Up for Legal Aid

Legal Services Corporation (LSC) provides legal aid for 1.9 million individuals and families. LSC grantees provide civil legal aid for the poor, addressing matters involving safety, subsistence, and family stability.  Legal Aid is a critical support to elders, including residents of long-term care facilities.  Legal aid attorneys help residents facing eviction from nursing homes, provide support around issues of guardianship and powers of attorney, and assist individuals in accessing benefits for obtaining needed care and services.  Tell Congress why you support Legal Aid.
