It's the "Salsa Weekly Highlight," your quick hit on what's new in Salsa to help get the most out of your online program. As always, you can find plenty more news, updates, and conversation throughout the week on SalsaCommons.org.
We've recently released an upgrade to the indispensable Website Management feature unsubscribe pages.
To get this upgrade, you'll want to add the package called salsa.supporter.unsubscribe in your Salsa "Account" section.
Salsa's new unsubscribe pages simplify the process of building custom unsubscribe pages, and give your unsubscribing users a clean, comprehensible set of options.
They'll let your organization build intuitive unsubscribe pages that work with any list management strategy, and let people opt out of Salsa Groups, Tags, and/or Chapters.
When users click through to unsubscribe pages from a Salsa email blast, they'll see personalized pages tailor-made for their own subscriptions. Each user will be recognized by email automatically, and be offered crystal-clear unsubscription options only for the lists s/he actually belongs to.
(Just note that because Salsa needs to know the specific individual who's trying to unsubscribe, the View Page link you'd use to preview these pages is not what your supporters will see. You'll need to send yourself an Email Blast -- not just a test email -- to test it out properly.)
Add the salsa.supporter.unsubscribe package, and your supporters will never go away mad again!
You can find out more about your unsubscribe options, including updated chapter-based unsubscribe behavior and the older (but still supported) unsubscribe.jsp page, in the documentation. As always, I welcome your feedback on this tool, so drop us a line if you have any questions or comments to share.
