Our Driveway Cleaning And Jet Washing Process Explained
The first application
Lets take a block driveway cleaning job as an example, one of the more common power washing jobs we undertake.
If required a weed control will be applied prior to the job date and this will be advised at the quote and appraisal stage.
After a quick sweep to remove any loose debris we get straight to work applying our cleaning solution. On contact the solution kills microorganisms, algae and lichens including black spot, all things that jet washing will not kill or remove. This step is important and even though the job would look clean it would not last for long if we did not do it. If you have ever used a Karcher system you will have noticed that it looks dirty again within a fairly short time. The black that you are seeing is not only dirt, but a build up of microorganisms living on the surface. Our cleaning solution, as well as killing all of these unwanted organisms, will begin to lift the dirt from the surface.
After a short time the cleaning solution has done its job and will break down. It is fully biodegradable and harmless to the environment.
Jet washing comes next
We have the best equipment available for this stage including our Mosmatic rotary surface cleaner and various lances fed by seriously powerful but fully adjustable high pressure pumps. The combination of the first application and the mechanical cleaning gives the best possible result and we start to reveal the original condition of the surface being cleaned.
The second application
When the job looks great, and the client is already delighted, we are not finished. We want this to last a long time. We apply a biocide which is left on the surface and forms a barrier that slows regrowth meaning the job stays and looks cleaner for longer.
Our process is based on the 'soft wash' process but with the addition of high pressure mechanical cleaning.
If needed the driveway will be sanded on a dry day and the job is completed.
