A healthy breakfast helps students focus in class, score higher on standardized tests and succeed in school. Yet, just 30 percent of eligible NJ children receive breakfast in school, even though they are already enrolled in the federal school meals program.

Right now, the state Legislature is debating the proposed budget. Whether they make changes that benefit kids will depend, in large part, on how many people speak up in support of investing in children.
