On June 19, Americans for Peace Now joined with nine other organizations in a Day of Action to advance resolutions in the Senate and in the House of Representatives that oppose annexation of the West Bank by Israel and support the two-state solution.

The need for action remailns. Please take part with us and our fellow organizations!

Our coalition (APN, Ameinu, Hashomer Hatzair, J Street, Jewish Labor Committee, National Council of Jewish Women, New Israel Fund, Partners for Progressive Israel, Reconstructing Judaism, and T’ruah: The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights) sent a letter to leaders in the House of Representatives urging them to bring to the House floor H. Res. 326, a resolution that will put on record members of the House of Representatives as endorsing the two-state solution and repudiating Israeli annexation of the West Bank or parts of it. Over half of the House Democratic Caucus have already signed on as co-sponsors. It’s time that our representatives have an opportunity to debate and vote on this resolution.

In the Senate, a similar measure has recently been introduced. Senate Res. 234 gives the Senate a chance to push back against the Trump administration’s apparent endorsement of unilateral Israeli annexation of West Bank territory. Such annexation could destroy prospects for a two-state solution. By endorsing annexation, the Trump administration is encouraging a future of indefinite occupation and permanent conflict, which will threaten Israel’s character as a democracy and a national home for the Jewish people. Such a future would also deny Palestinians their right to national independence and sovereignty.

Tell the Senate: Oppose annexation; Support the two-state solution.

Sen. Jeff Merkley (OR) introduced the new Senate resolution, which is co-sponsored by leading pro-Israel, pro-peace senators, including Elizabeth Warren (MA), Bernie Sanders (VT), Diane Feinstein (CA), Dick Durbin (IL), Tammy Duckworth (IL), Tammy Baldwin (WI) and Tom Udall (NM). The more senators that co-sponsor the measure, the more powerful the message to Trump and Netanyahu will be.

Tell your senators you support S. Res. 234 and ask them to co-sponsor it (or thank them if they've already signed on).
