The Letter to the Editor Section is one of the most widely read sections of the newspaper and can reach a large audience. It allows community members to comment on the way issues are being addressed in the media and to influence the topics the local paper may choose to cover. Elected officials often monitor this section of the newspaper and take notice of constituents' opinions.

  • This week is the 16th anniversary of the murder of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, at the hands of a Jewish terrorist.

  • This anniversary comes at a time when there are increasing signs that the environment in Israel today will lead to similar violence, most notably an escalation of attacks against free speech and democracy.

  • Last the week a terrorist called in a bomb threat to Peace Now’s Jerusalem office and left “Price Tag” graffiti at the site. A day later, terrorists spray-painted death threats on Hagit Ofran’s Jerusalem home, writing: “Hagit Ofran, Rabin awaits you” and “Hagit Ofran, z’l” (z’l translates roughly as “of blessed memory and is used to indicate that someone is dead).

  • Recent months have seen repeated attacks by Jewish terrorists against peace activists, Palestinians and the IDF and police. Last month, Jewish terrorists burned a mosque and desecrated a Muslim and a Christian cemetery inside Israel.

  • All of this comes in the context of continuous attacks from inside the Knesset, largely supported by the Netanyahu government, against Israeli civil society organizations like Peace Now and Btselem.

  • A vibrant civil society – embodied in Israeli groups like Peace Now and Btselem – is the hallmark of any healthy democracy.

  • This isn’t about the Israeli Right versus the Israeli Left. It’s about right or wrong.

  • People need to wake up before Jewish terrorists escalate their attacks further.
