From Israeli Security to Peace Activism: How one Israeli discovered these to be the same

Please sign up at the bottom of this page.

*This is a New Generations event, for people in their 20s and 30s.*

How does the continued Israeli-Palestinian conflict undermine Israeli society and long-term security? Why is a two-state solution just, necessary and possible? What is it like to be an Israeli officer in the West Bank?  Join former IDF combat and intelligence officer Ohad Elhelo for a discussion about his experiences serving in the IDF and how they have led him to become an activist for peace.

There will be appetizers served and a cash bar.

Ohad Elhelo, currently a sophomore at Brandeis University, is originally from Ashdod, Israel. At 18, Ohad enlisted in the IDF Special Forces unit, Egoz. He was soon promoted to a commanding position in the Counter-Terrorism unit and then a combat intelligence officer serving in northern Israel and the West Bank. During his last months in the army, he led a project that was nominated for the Head of Intelligence Prize.

Please join us for this J Street Young Professionals event, which is co-sponsored by NIF New Generations.
