Daily Democracy: Working for Social Change in the Knesset
A conversation with Idit Menashe of SHATIL

A New Israel Fund parlor meeting hosted by Rebecca Stein and Steven Matthews
Location: Ardmore, PA (RSVP below for full address)

About Idit
As legislative advisor at SHATIL’s Center for Policy Change, Idit Menashe is NIF/SHATIL’s frontline representative, spearheading our progressive agenda in the Knesset, building alliances and speaking for the most marginalized people of Israel. Idit is involved in many of the issues in the headlines, including gender equality (including in the IDF), government transparency, and combating anti-democratic legislation, and has provided lobbying training for different communities, such as Bedouin women. Prior to joining SHATIL, Idit worked for five years as a parliamentary assistant to MK Nitzan Horowitz and to former MK Ran Cohen, both of Meretz. She holds a B.A. in Behavioral Sciences and an M.A. in Public Policy. Idit is 33 years old and lives in Tel Aviv.

About SHATIL
SHATIL is an initiative of the New Israel Fund which provides almost 1,500 nonprofit organizations with consulting services, training, coalition-building assistance, and general support. SHATIL also reaches out to disadvantaged populations – such as new immigrants, Arab Israelis and residents of development towns – to help them realize their rights and play an active role in determining the policies that affect their lives.

The New Israel Fund is the leading organization committed to equality and democracy for all Israelis.

This will be an opportunity to learn more about the work of NIF/SHATIL, but there will be no solicitations.
