Provide Feedback on CMS Regulations for LTC Facilities!
As you may be aware, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) develops Conditions of Participation (CoPs) that Long Term Care Facilities are required to meet in order to begin or continue participating in the Medicare and Medicaid programs (CoPs are the regulations). These CoPs include standards that help improve the quality of care for residents and protect their health and safety.
CMS is currently conducting a systematic review of the CoPs for Long-Term Care Facilities (483 subpart B) and asking for feedback on how these regulatory standards could be improved or what regulatory standards should be protected/remain unaltered in these conditions. They are specifically looking for any feedback that would promote resident-centered care, improve quality, reduce burdens, and make the regulations current. CMS has asked the National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care (“Consumer Voice”) and a number of other organizations to weigh-in during the pre-rule-making phase. We have a very fast turnaround – we must submit our compiled feedback by/on July 2nd.
We need your input! What needs to stay as is? What needs to change and what do you recommend? Please CLICK HERE to submit your feedback on these regulations.
We all know the vast importance of the regulations that implement the Nursing Home Reform Act. While this is an opportunity to suggest improvements, it is also a time to fight for the preservation of these vital protections for nursing home residents. This is one of those moments in policy-making history when the consumers’ perspective is so critically needed – and we need your help to make it happen!
