Thanks to Everyone!

Thank you for your support. Your efforts have helped our legislators understand the value of Western and our public universities.

The new supplemental budget just passed has no new cuts for higher education. This would not have happened without your help.

Please take a minute to thank your legislators for their hard work and thoughtful deliberations.

For the first time since 2008, state funding to public higher education has not been cut.
The facts about the past and future cuts to higher education:
Between 2008 and 2011, the state cut operational funding for public baccalaureates by 50 percent.
WWU is now down to the funding level of the late 1980's, which is about the same time most college students were born.
State funding per student to Western is the lowest in the state.
While the cost of providing higher education in Washington has held steady for the past 20 years, the price to students and families has increased dramatically as the state has shifted more and more of the burden onto students and families.
