Supporter,

Next week the White House will host an important event – the White House Conference on Aging. This once-a-decade conference will address the state of aging in the nation – and ways to improve the quality of life for all older Americans. Of particular importance to us at the Pension Rights Center will be what conference attendees have to say about ways to strengthen retirement security for older Americans.

We’ve submitted comments on the WHCOA issue brief on retirement security. Check them out here. And this week we, along with partner organizations, delivered more than 226,000 petition signatures urging the WHCOA to include Social Security expansion in the conference.

Karen Friedman, PRC’s Executive Vice President and Policy Director, will attend the White House Conference on Aging in person. You can join in, too.

Here’s how you can participate:

  • Host a watch party. Invite your friends and host a watch party. Click here to register your watch party. You can watch a live stream of the conference from the White House website here: https://www.whitehouse.gov/live.

  • Tweet your comments. Do you have questions or topics that you’d like to have addressed during the conference? Use the #WHCOA hashtag to tweet your comments.

  • Share your story.  Give your unique insight to the White House Conference on Aging. This year marks special anniversaries for the Older Americans Act and programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. Have you been helped by any of these programs? Tell your story here.

You won’t want to miss this once-a-decade conference.

Sincerely,
Joellen Leavelle
