Oppose conservation foe Ryan Zinke as next Interior secretary!

Rep. Ryan Zinke

Donald Trump has nominated Rep. Ryan Zinke, of Montana, to be our next Secretary of the Dept. of the Interior. If approved, Rep. Zinke would be the most anti-conservation Interior chief in decades. We must oppose his nomination with energy and conviction!

As Interior secretary Rep. Zinke would be placed in charge of a department that oversees more than 500 million acres of our federal public lands, including vast forest resources in the national parks, in national wildlife refuges, and on other lands.

But Rep. Zinke is opposed to the mission of the very department he is tapped to lead. Even as millions of trees are dying from the direct and indirect effects of global warming, Rep. Zinke has refused to acknowledge that climate change is caused chiefly by fossil fuel emissions. He has voted to scrap environmental safeguards related to logging on the national forests. He has repeatedly attacked the Endangered Species Act.

And Rep. Zinke has promoted plans to turn management of U.S. public land over to industry-dominated panels, which among other things would push logging up to unsustainable levels.

Sign the petition today to stop the nomination of Rep. Ryan Zinke to head the U.S. Dept. of the Interior!
