Happy Friday!

I've been in D.C. since Monday, and it's been great interacting with my coworkers in person again, though I'm not sure they'd all say the same.

There were two individuals wearing argyle sweaters in our office yesterday. Four, if you count dogs as individuals. I'm still not sure how I feel about this, but I do concur that the holiday season seems to be a good time for argyle and parties.

In case you missed it...

Our Third Thursday yesterday afternoon was dedicated to in-person support. The support team had fun taking turns in the "driver's seat" and sharing our expertise on queries, imports, actions and templates. I also learned new things in the process, so yay.

We then had our holiday fiesta on U Street where, well, things seemed happy. Because our fiesta-loving group of progressives has grown so big. So many Salsa users - all in person - very fun. It was nice to finally witness the Third Thursday hijinks for myself. On the plus side, I managed to only drop about three items of foodstuff all over myself, so I felt sufficiently graceful.

Thanks to those who did stop over, and props to Brett Schenker for the first Fiesta shout-out.

Upgrades!

A Supporter Management update was released for your use last week. You can add this package whenever you're up to checking it out.

A few bits of awesomeness that might inspire you to check out the package, copied and recycled from last week's Fiesta because, well, you know... why not:

  • Customizable overview fields: Put all the information you need most in the at-a-glance panel of a supporter's record. (And add pictures, too.)
  • Contacts: Granular contact tracking including codes, purposes, and priorities, with advance scheduling and the ability to assign "to-do" items to coworkers.
  • Home and secondary addresses: Simplified interfaces to manage billing, shipping, secondary, and other addresses. (Plus Google Maps for all addresses

.)
  • Householding
: Assign supporters to other households
, name households, and suppress non-heads of households in queries and reports.
  • Inline Donations
: Easy hand entry of gifts, with over a dozen donation and tracking fields, plus real-time credit card processing and on-the-fly email acknowledgment.

And remember, all accounts will automatically be upgraded with the new Events package, the new Email package, and the new Actions package come January 1.

Happy Holidays

Upcoming holiday hours for tech support:

  • 12/24 - Phones closed at 2 p.m. and Support closed at 4 p.m.
  • 12/25 - Closed
  • 12/31 - Phones closed at 2 p.m. and Support closed at 4 p.m.
  • 1/1 - Closed

Finally, my coworkers are not as boring as they were last week, but I still need some new ones.

Have an awesome weekend,

Chelsea

The Friday Fiesta is a more informal update on what's going on in the Salsa Community.
I usually like to add a few notes on my favorite topics as well as what's up in our office,
all delivered with a charming dose of rambling sarcasm,
because I don't actually know how to communicate in any other way.
