Happy Friday!

This week was full of flu symptoms and snow - I decided that since we usually get snow by November here in Wisconsin, we had to make up for lost time by throwing it down all at once. I've got my laptop for a space heater though, so I'm nice and cozy...

Has anyone added donation options on events? Let us know how you managed this through either a donation page or an events page. I've seen storefronts used for event signups as well.

Thanks, Anne, for pointing out this cool tool for checking html for emails. New resources are always fun.

How do you handle organization names? I've seen many members use the First Name field for the actual organization name, which seems to work all right, but other thoughts are definitely welcome.

Want to email your "In Honor" donations? I've gotten this questions a few times in the past few weeks, so I thought I'd send this topic around.

Upgrades!

A Supporter Management update was released for your use yesterday. You can add this package whenever you're up to checking it out.

A few bits of awesomeness that might inspire you to check out the package:

  • Customizable overview fields: Put all the information you need most in the at-a-glance panel of a supporter's record. (And add pictures, too.)
  • Contacts: Granular contact tracking including codes, purposes, and priorities, with advance scheduling and the ability to assign "to-do" items to coworkers.
  • Home and secondary addresses: Simplified interfaces to manage billing, shipping, secondary, and other addresses. (Plus Google Maps for all addresses

.)
  • Householding
: Assign supporters to other households
, name households, and suppress non-heads of households in queries and reports.
  • Inline Donations
: Easy hand entry of gifts, with over a dozen donation and tracking fields, plus real-time credit card processing and on-the-fly email acknowledgment.

And remember, all accounts will automatically be upgraded with the new Events package, the new Email package, and the new Actions package come January 1.

Third Thursday Open House

I mentioned this last week, too, but our next Third Thursday workshop will be dedicated to in-person support. For those who haven't noticed how quickly the month is passing, this is actually next week!

Finally, my coworkers are still boring, and I need some new ones.

Happy weekend!

The Friday Fiesta is a more informal update on what's going on in the Salsa Community.
I usually like to add a few notes on my favorite topics as well as what's up in our office,
all delivered with a charming dose of rambling sarcasm,
because I don't actually know how to communicate in any other way.
