Double-Tall Peppermint Holiday Mocha from Board Cafe

06:30 PM Dec 27, 2005

An oldie but goodie from Board Cafe, whose mailing list makes at least as good reading for nonprofit staff as for board: its "Twelve Board Cafe Days of Christmas". In the absence of an evident Internet link to this resource, I've taken the liberty of reproducing it in its entirety here.

THE TWELVE BOARD CAFE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS
On the first day of Christmas, my board gave to me: A simple, sound conflict-of-interest policy for all board members and staff to sign.

On the 8th day of Christmas, I got "How Much to Pay Your Executive Director" from the Board Cafe website, as I wondered about what my committee should recommend to the full board

On the 9th day of Christmas, I forwarded this issue of the Board Cafe to nine friends and urged them to subscribe (free) to the Board Cafe

On the 10th day of Christmas, our board president gave to all of us: Ten Ways to Invigorate Board Meetings

On the 11th day of Christmas, our executive director got from me: the Best of the Board Café, which has all these articles and more, at
www.compasspoint.org/bookstore.

And on the 12th day of Christmas, I had another cup of eggnog, and I rested!
