Telcos Win in House; Net Neutrality Moves to Senate

10:00 AM Jun 09, 2006

Late last night, the House of Representatives rejected the net neutrality amendment to the Communications Opportunity, Promotion and Enhancement (COPE) Act 269-152, then approved COPE with majorities of both parties.  It's a huge win for telcos, who have liberally lubricated the capital.  (How'd your rep vote on the amendment and on the un-amended COPE?)

The Senate is now the last redoubt against telcom toll booths on the Internet.
