Styles of Effective Presentations

The inimitable Beth Kanter cues to this outstanding roundup of TED presentations with wildly different approaches that each work in different ways.

We were lucky enough to enjoy the Lessig style at our user conference last year. But it has to be said that several other speakers -- and non-presenting participants -- made a similar spark with much less polish and visual whizbangery.

The more of these I see -- conferences, webinars, podcasts, and the wonders of Flash embeds -- the more it strikes me that every presentation I see violates someone's bullet-point list of presentation best practices. The common thread for all these wonderful presenters is commitment to the personal connection -- the entertainment, if you want to put it that way.
