SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- It' s Dairy Day at the New York State Fair. If you get there by 11 a.m., you can listen to Assemblyman Bill Magee auction off cheese. Personally, I'm planning to spend part of my working day writing and filing from the cow birthing center.

The state's National Organization for Women has endorsed Zephyr Teachout over Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the Sept. 9 Democratic primary.

The Working Families Party groomed Teachout to run against Cuomo, then abandoned her when the governor promised to embrace a more liberal agenda.

Still, Teachout is a long shot. Nearly 9 out of 10 voters don't know her, and she can't afford television ads.

In fact, the gubernatorial race itself has an underdog feel to it -- few people are paying attention at all.

Ten rural counties in New York haven't given a cent toward Cuomo's $23 million campaign account.
