First Ward Councilwoman Theresa Castellano and her opponent, Eric Kurta, have ramped up their campaign efforts with signs and billboards yards away from each other on the same street.

Castellano has a sign outside of her store, City Discount, on Washington Street at Second Street.

But right across the street on the side of a building, Eric Kurta has a billboard for his campaign.

Last week, the City Clerk's office released an official list of candidates eligible for the ballot this May.

The City Council's ballot drawing will be held in the council chambers on March 28 at noon.
