Hoboken City Council Reorganizes

The new council majority took over on Friday afternoon.

The power on the City Council shifted on Friday afternoon, with Councilman-at-Large Ravi Bhalla taking becoming Council President and Fifth Ward Councilman becoming vice president.

Bhalla become the new president in an 8-1 vote, with former Council President Beth Mason voting "no." Cunningham, nominated by Third Ward Councilman Michael Russo, was appointed as vice president unanimously.

Jennifer Giattino, sitting in on her first meeting ever, smiled every time she voted "yes" on the resolutions.
